As more organizations, companies, and institutions are taking steps to address disparities due to factors such as race and gender, it is important for community leaders to come together to consider what role each of us plays in creating more equitable opportunity for all.

Brian Payne and Pam Ross will discuss Central Indiana Community Foundation’s new strategic plan which focuses on dismantling systemic racism and the role that philanthropy plays in doing that. They will also share a little about the journey their staff has taken to prepare for this work.

We will hear from organizations that advocate for underrepresented populations about the challenges their communities face to access opportunities.

We will also hear from a panel of speakers representing companies that are taking steps to make their own corporate culture more inclusive and what strategies they are using.

We will wrap up our day with a conversation with Kelly Krauskopf who began her first season as Assistant General Manager for the Indiana Pacers January 1, 2019. She is the first woman in NBA history to hold this position and the first to be named to the executive basketball management staff for the Pacers. In 2013, she was named by the Sports Business Journal a ‘Game Changer’ in Sports for her impact in the industry. Kelly will speak about the importance of having women in leadership positions and share her experience of working in a male-dominated industry.

Civic Leadership Summit is a chance to gather people from a variety of sectors and industries to think about how we can all work together to strengthen Indianapolis for generations to come by providing more equitable opportunities throughout our great city.
